The Skinny on Lifeshield | Our Opinion

At Affordable Final Expense, LifeShield is one of our life insurance “pricebuster” carriers and policies for smokers. For health smokers, Lifeshield will always be a top 3 choice for lowest rates and most of the time will be the least expensive. The other two competitors for lowest life insurance rates for smokers is Mutual of Omaha and Americo.

Lifeshield is also competitive for non-smokers, but they really stand out for smokers.

Lifeshield Final Expense or Burial insurance is whole life insurance with fairly strict underwriting, so seniors with minor to moderate health issues can qualify. Policy amounts range from $2,000 up to $30,000.

These plans are primarily meant to pay for burial and other funeral expenses but do not let this fool you into thinking that the benefit MUST be use for funeral expenses or it’s a pre-need program. Simply put, it’s a life insurance policy and the beneficiary may spend the death benefit however he/she chooses or however the deceased wished the funds be spent.

LIFESHIELD, THINGS TO NOTE
